Why does “Over The Rainbow” make me cry too?

Its funny how sometimes you write things that are not very well read ..

( Some might say not very well written .. Ed! )

Shut-up Ed .. who asked you anyway?!  🙂

The point being that I write just whatever I feel,  family,  football,  friends,  random thoughts.

Music is a big part of my life,  one of my most read pages is about the song Over The Rainbow and why I think that it has such an emotional impact on people.

Definitely one of my 3 funeral songs.

Why Does Over The Rainbow Make Me Cry?

But decided to record and add my version to soundcloud,  link below.

Sing with me ..

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There’s a land that I heard of once,  once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow. Why, oh why? can’t I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Above the rainbow why, oh, why can’t I?

Blind-Sided – 8 – Green?

Ellen Barkin
It’s green for go and you move your hand from her breast, keeping her nipple gently but firmly locked between tongue and tooth.

Like some lust-crazed bull-terrier, She’d need to hit your head with a blunt instrument to pull it away now!

But that’s not going to happen.

You’re left hand is at the small of her back just in case.

She’s moaning as you squeeze her breast putting pressure against the C4 nerve that transmits sensory pressure from her nipple to the pleasure centre of her brain.

All girls are different, nipples and breasts are certainly different, like cars, built to a general framework, but some are bigger or smaller than others, more responsive, dynamic, highly performing or just plain dull.

Did I really say that?

Breasts being dull? Continue reading “Blind-Sided – 8 – Green?”

#Celtic – Keeping the Customers Satisfied?

So Celtic have pulled out the stops to land ex-Liverpool and Watford manager as the new man in charge at Celtic Park.

Bit of a coup really ,  if you believe ( as I do ) that he would have had options within the English Premier League.

On Monday night for his offical unveiling,  13.000 fans turned up at Celtic Park to give him a welcome to Paradise.

13,000 on a Monday night,  not even a game on!

Call me cynical,   but don’t you have anything better to do?

Personally,  I’ve no doubts that Brendan will lead the way in Scottish Football,  I’m sure that he has negotaiated a deal that includes a “warchest” for new players.

I am absolutely certain that the combination of his appointment,  a couple of glamour signings and the prospect of facing newco-Rangers will have the “faithful” flocking back to Paradise in droves.

It all makes good sense from a business point of view.

But where were all these fickle “faithful” in the past few years when the stadium was half empty?

#Celtic – More Than A Club?

The Celtic legend Tommy Burns once said “When you pull on a Celtic Jersey,  you don’t just represent a football club,  you represent a people,  a cause.”

Even the club itself uses the mantra of “Celtic More Than A Club” to sell season tickets,  that somehow the club retains the ethos originally set out by the founding members including Brother Walfrid that it would be a focus for charity to help the poor of Glasgow and predominantly the east end of the city.

I used to believe that,  I bought into it with my hard-earned cash paying for 2 season book for over 20 years sitting in the Jock Stein Stand when it opened and in the Lisbon Liions stand the year or two before that.

But what was that cause?

Who are these people that the club represents?

Game Of Thrones – Brothers, Sisters, Lovers?

Don’t know about you,  but I’m loving this new series of Game Of Thrones.

Last night Jon was reunited with his sister Sansa at The Wall,  then threatened by Ramsay Bolton to hand her back to his evil control.

In the Iron Islands,  Theon who helped Sansa escape from Ramsay is reunited with his sister Yara.

Yara,  not the shrinking violet reminds Theon that she has already been sent his private parts by Ramsay when he tortured and broke Theon.

At Kings Lamding that incestous brother and sister Cercei and Jaime Lannister are courting the Tyrell’s assistance for their revenge against the High Sparrow.

The Tyrells are initially hostile to this approach but share a common loathing for the Sparrow religious sect who are currently holding the queen Margaery Tyrell wife of King Tommen Lannister.

Meanwhile in the captivity of the High Sparrow,  Margaery is reunited with her brother Loras in his cell,  offering him hope when all seems lost.

In another part of the world,  Daenerys is captured by the Dothraki,  held within the Temple of Dosh Kaleen,  the home of the widows of the Khals( Dothraki Kings) until her fate is decided.

She is reunited with lover Daario and longtime advisor Loras who clearly has a lot of affection for her.

Does Loras want to be her lover or does he love her as a father truly loves his daughter and wants nothing but the best for her?

Last nights ending was fantastic,  Daenerys looking vulnerable, helpless yet determined in the face of her enemy.

It was only going to go one way.

Loved it.

On a personal note,  have you ever met anyone named Ramsay that you like?

I’ve met two people called Ramsay in real life,  not as bad as the fictional one above,  but both arrogant self serving little pricks that if I wasn’t so civilised I’d liked to have kicked square in the balls.

I’m looking forward to the fictional Ramsay getting his comeuppance.

Wouldn’t it be great if it was Theon who gets his revenge?

Take my advice and never trust anyone called Ramsay.

The Doors Alive?

He struts acros the stage,  posing arrogantly,  sneering then staring at the audience,  provocatively inviting them to challenge his machismo.

No-one does.

At times,  he almost whispers then roars or screams through their reportoire of classic Doors anthems,  Riders On The Storm,  Break On Through To The Other Side,  Hello I Love You.

He looks like Jim Morrison,  if thats possible,  tall,  slim,  great cheekbones and those wild flowing locks,  bedecked in black leather jeans and cheese-cloth shirt.

The man has a presence,  raw sexuality on a stage,  that I can’t honestly say that I’ve seen with any other band .. and I go to see a lot of bands

The women seems to love his strutting and I’m jealous, I’m sure I’m not the only one.

For the instrumental section of Light My Fire,  he goes off stage,  having the good grace to let the band take the credit.   The whirling organ and hynotic bass are still playing around in my head today,  much better than the bland covers by the likes of Sinatra.

The band are just as authentic,  the keyboard player even looks like Ray Manzerak and just as virtuoso on his hammond organ.   As a long term piano player,  I particularly appreciate his artistry.

My mate Ian is just as enthusiastic about the guitarist abbilities.

The band roll out all the classic and a few album tracks that I’m sure I must own including Spanish Caravan that I had forgotten.  What an an atmosphere and the enthusiastic crowd weren’t slow to show their appreciation.

I first saw The Doors Alive at the O2 Academy in Glasgow about 10 years ago,  somehow they haven’t changed,  they’ve got better and seem younger .. can’t figure why!

If you’re in Edinburgh tonight,  go see them,  I guarantee a treat.

Work Stories – Conforming?

An Interesting article in the news today about the young woman whoi was sent home from work because she wore her flat shoes rather than high heels?

As an ex-I -want-to-be-a-punk-but-my-mammy-widnae-let-me .. I’m all for non-conformance in most things,  particularly in clothing.

Who gives a fuck what you wear as long as you get the job done?

Obviously .. health and safety could be an issue if you’re working ina dangerous job,  but to sit around an office?

Why do people conform to what the bosses expect? Continue reading “Work Stories – Conforming?”
